Project Description

Photography Р2016

With some snow reported as fallen and the forecast for a bright sunny day, I set off with Tricia for a drive to Glencoe in the hope of capturing some nice interesting pictures.

On the journey there, the weather was dull and grey with few breaks in the clouds, until we were at the far end of Loch Lomond and even then the brightness was very limited and intermittent. Indeed, on the journey over Rannoch Moor the cloud base was really low and visibility was becoming an issue for driving. We decided to soldier on at least until the entrance to Glencoe, before deciding whether to throw in the towel for the day. Suddenly as we gained some height at the end of Ranch Moor and approached the entrance to Glencoe, we emerged through the cloud and we were greeted with blue skies and some impressive cloud inversion. The pictures below are the results and having taken them and turned around to head home, within a few hundred yards of our vantage point we were once again immersed in thick ‘clag’ and would hardly have believed that the views below were possible!
